Welcome to Greenbrier Public Schools. These are exciting times for our district as we continue our focus of providing a world class education for world class students. As we begin a new year we face many opportunities, our greatest being the implementation of the Common Core State Standards. These new standards will allow our teaching professionals to go much deeper in the content than ever before thus creating a much deeper understanding by all students. Parents and students will also notice a greater focus of reading for content knowledge. This simply means reading and understanding more non-fiction and practical information.
As we diligently focus on student learning and the new standards, it is important for us all to remember the importance of community and family partnerships. It is strong partnerships that enable our students to be successful. This will in turn lead to a successful, vibrant community. We invite you to be part of this exciting process. Please know that you are welcome at Greenbrier Public Schools. It is our desire for you to become more familiar and involved than ever before in the opportunities for the students of Greenbrier.
