Wooster Elementary is creating a tradition by kicking off its “WE Read As One” Initiative for the third year in a row!
Last Friday, the first Spirit Day of the year was the ideal time for students, staff, and families to meet Wooster’s very own Big Friendly Giant, who, along with some other special readers, even read the first chapter of Roald Dahl’s BFG to the entire crowd!
Books went home with students on Friday along with bookmarks. The bookmarks have Wooster’s reading schedule on them. Wooster families are encouraged to read along at home while staff members have activities to go along with the book at school.
Mark your calendars because Wooster Elementary will have a special guest coming to read the last chapter on October 17th as well as on its Family Movie Night on the evening of October 19th!
The purpose of the WE Read as One initiative is to engage in meaningful discussions and a shared love for literature! By providing every student a personal copy of the book, Wooster Elementary School is excited to engage families in sharing the love of reading and experiencing the story chapter by chapter. Be watching for more details and reminders in the weeks to come!
