The Greenbrier School District was awarded an Innovation in Computer Science Grant from the Arkansas Department of Education in the amount of $19,877! This grant has funded a range of equipment purchases from portable smart boards to programmable robotics kits. A portion of the grant was dedicated to hosting a Coding conference at which the Arkansas Teacher of the Year, Ms. Susannah Post, spoke to junior high students about opportunities in computer science. High School computer science students were able to use technology purchased with the grant in order to facilitate a series of coding experiences meant to expose them to the world of computer science. The Greenbrier School District is proud of its Computer Science Program, and we are looking forward to continuing to host events like this in order to prepare students for their future!
