Edible Science Explorations

GMS students explored learning throughout the year! In this edible exploration, Mrs. Lowry’s science students used graham crackers, wafer cookies, and cool whip to model how convection currents drive the movement of Earth’s rigid tectonic plates. Students used the sweet treats to mimic the movements of the three main types of tectonic plate boundaries (convergent, divergent, and transform) as well as seafloor spreading and plate subduction.
