GMS Week 12/13

Weeks 12 and 13 at GMS were full of dress up days, interactive learning, and fun!

Our amazing GMS bands started off the week with their Fall Band Concert. We were amazed at the hard work of both the students and band directors! Way to go students- we are so proud of you!

October 28-November 1 was Red Ribbon Week, and our students did such an amazing job participating in our dress up days and Food Drive. Thank you so much families for your support!

6th and 7th grade students had the opportunity to visit the library to complete stations on different types of resources they can use for research. Students explored text resources, online databases, and educational articles as they rotated through each station.

7th grade literacy students got the amazing experience of visualizing the size of the annex from their class novel, The Diary of Anne Frank. Students discussed how the characters would feel being trapped in such a small space, as well as how their emotions would impact their relationships with others in the annex. Students also saw different World War II fiction and nonfiction books that they can check out through the GMS Library!

We finished our week by celebrating our Veterans at the GMS Veterans Day Assembly. Veterans and their families were treated to breakfast and a performance by our GMS and GJHS choirs, and they got to hear from our speaker, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Speck. Thank you Veterans for your service to our country. We greatly appreciate you and your families!
