For Unplugged Day, first grade hitched up their covered wagons and travelled through time to the 1800s to experience life like Laura Ingalls Wilder. We made our own butter, yarn dolls, practiced handwriting (and even had to make our own lines like in the olden days because lined paper was too expensive), turned off the lights and used the sun from the window as our light, and also had a little Groundhog Day fun with predictions. Little Eastside in the Big Woods was a success!
