Second Graders Practice Problem Solving

Students in Mrs. Hillis’ second grade class have been engaged in highly critical thinking as they solved a math problem that they loved this week! The problem stated: Chickens and sheep live in a field next to Fernando’s school. Looking over the fence, Fernando counted 8 heads. Looking under the fence, Fernando counted 22 legs. How many of each animal could there be?

Students approached the problem in different ways and worked collaboratively to find a solution. #SESstandOUT #GreenbrierProud
