Earlier in the year first graders in Mrs. Beck’s class learned about place value in 2 digit numbers. In this unit, students are circling back to place value by exploring 2 and 3 digit numbers, efficient strategies for solving addition and subtraction word problems and identifying 10 more and 10 less than a given number! Yesterday they used dice to roll the digits that would create 3 digit numbers. Then students had to make the number using hundred flats, “quick tens,” & “loose ones.” Finally the student wrote the number in expanded form! #SESstandOUT #GreenbrierProud
