We introduced our new WE Read as One book, The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate!  Students reviewed the difference between fiction and nonfiction as we learned about the real Ivan, a gorilla that was held in captivity at a shopping mall for 27 years before he was transferred to Zoo Atlanta to be reunited with other gorillas for the first time in 30 years.  We are excited to read this New York Times bestseller with our school community!
