Third grade students were enlightened on the experiences of immigrants who came through Ellis Island to become United States citizens as part of their book introduction to The Orphan of Ellis Island. The students created passports, saluted the captain of the ship, answered questions about their wealth, health, and English-speaking ability, and also took a virtual trip. What a fun experience!
