Second grade teachers introduced their first read aloud chapter book of the year, Charlotte’s Web! They hooked the students into the book by dressing up as farmers and Wilbur in addition to decorating the halls for a farm-like atmosphere. The students have been following along in the text while asking and answering questions, using knowledge of base words to identify words with prefixes and suffixes, and describing character traits of the animals and people in the book. These students are excited about learning what happens during the rest of the story!
