The 3rd grade students spent the day getting ready for their new chapter book, Sarah, Plain and Tall. The students spent time discussing the two settings of the book, which are Maine and the Midwest during the mid 1800s, comparing the characters based on their traits from the first reading, and also participated in a cool hands-on experience from the time period by making butter! Additionally, the students also participated in a virtual tour of a pioneer's home from the time period of the book. These students were treated to some neat experiences and had a fun time being introduced to their new book!
