The 1st grade students visited the Historic Arkansas Museum where they were able to build background knowledge of what life was like long ago. The students were able to wash clothes on a washing board, churn butter, explore various plants in a garden, and play games with simple materials. This experience will help students to better understand their upcoming novel study of Little House in the Big Woods. What a fun learning experience for students before they begin their new book!
