In Mrs. Foster’s class, the 5th graders, turned their classroom into a café in Paris! They got to look at a video tour of France to obtain background knowledge of the setting for their new book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret. The book is set in Paris, France during the 1930s. The students ate French bread or baguettes and drank hot chocolate to make it feel more like a café. They will use this book to increase their knowledge of inferring!
