Mrs. Raney's third grade science students worked in small groups to  build a flood-resistant structure to show how to reduce the impact of weather-related hazards. The challenge was to use the available materials to design a flood barrier or flood-resistant structure to slow or stop water from getting to the house. What a fun activity to engage students in their learning!
