Greenbrier’s Westside and Eastside Elementary Schools celebrated their brand new playground with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce, Superintendent Scott Spainhour, Greenbrier School Board members, students, and staff. 

Students from each grade level were chosen to represent and read their writing about their favorite part of the new playground. Many of them commented on the spiral slide, new basketball hoops, and the merry-go-round. A new student at Westside included a statement about the swings and how it is a great place to meet new friends. Coach Natalie Reynolds spoke about the effects of physical activity and how it greatly contributes to the success within the classroom. 

Principal Kelley Krogman and Principal Melissa West  presented a plaque and thank you cards to Board Member Jennifer Hill and Mr. Scott Spainhour, dedicating the playground to them, and the Greenbrier Community. 

The celebration ended with a giant pair of scissors, members of the Greenbrier Chamber, students, and a dance party! It was a great morning of celebration for all of Eastside and Westside Elementary Schools.
