October "Whatever It Takes" Award | Kathleen Bain
Mrs. Kathleen Bain consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to her students and the Greenbrier educational community. In her role as an Advanced Placement teacher, Mrs. Bain has achieved remarkable success in preparing her students for rigorous academic challenges. Under her guidance, many students have attained high qualifying scores in AP exams, reflecting not only her exceptional teaching abilities but also her deep understanding of the curriculum and her students’ unique learning needs.
Mrs. Bain employs an innovative approach to instruction, incorporating a variety of teaching methods that engage students and foster critical thinking skills. Her dedication to academic excellence has inspired her students to reach for their highest potential, often exceeding their own expectations. Her engagement in the classroom is unparalleled, her enthusiasm for learning is infectious, and she has a unique talent for making complex subjects accessible and enjoyable. Mrs. Bain’s personal connections with her students enhance their learning experiences as well as their confidence and self-worth.
Beyond her classroom, Mrs. Bain is a vital member of the GHS guiding coalition where she collaborates with her peers to enhance our school's overall academic performance. She actively shares her insights and strategies and promotes shared goals and collective success. Specifically, Mrs. Bain has led the charge with the reformed grading practices and helps implement best practices throughout our school.
