Tory Moix named the Arkansas Association of Middle Level Administrators Assistant Principal of the Year

Mrs. Tory Moix, Assistant Principal at Greenbrier Middle School, was recently named the Arkansas Association of Middle Level Administrators (AAMLA) Assistant Principal of the Year. This award is sponsored by Curriculum Associates. Lenett Thrasher, AAEA
Assistant Executive Director; Mike Mertens, AAEA Consultant; Scott Spainhour, Superintendent of Greenbrier Public Schools; Harry Dickens, Curriculum Associates; and Alice Shirey, Curriculum Associates, presented Mrs. Moix with the award on January 14, 2025.

This award is given each year to an Arkansas middle level assistant principal who has succeeded in contributing to a positive and motivating environment for others and has been recognized as exhibiting exceptional leadership skills in the school community.

Mrs. Moix has been Assistant Principal at Greenbrier Middle School since 2022. During her time as assistant principal, Mrs. Moix has worked to build capacity within teachers by creating "Monthly Mentor/Mentee Meetings" to onboard, retain, and support new and novice teachers. She also led in the design and implementation of the school's intervention period to help meet the needs of students, as
well as transitioning to the use of Standards-Based learning, grading, and reporting at the school.
