February "Whatever It Takes" Award | Magen Strong

We are #GreenbrierProud to present Ms. Magen Strong with a “Whatever It Takes” award She has such heart and enthusiasm for our littlest Panthers. From themed outfits to special classroom experiences, students are excited to come into her classroom to find out what the day will hold for them. Instruction takes place through hands-on and relevant activities of high interest to young children. Students loved the garden they helped plant and nurture. Every child in her room tried the vegetables they had a hand in growing. When she brought an incubator with eggs into the classroom, students were able to observe the life cycle of a chicken while learning how to take care of all aspects from watering and feeding to cleaning their cage. Students from other classrooms would stop on the way to their own classrooms in the morning to visit the baby chicks and Ms. Strong was more than happy to answer their questions and respond to their excited comments.
Ms. Strong impacts our PreK program on a daily basis not only in her own classroom but as a leader for all of our staff. She mentors new teachers as they start their PreK journey in Greenbrier. They frequently visit her classroom for ideas and to see a model of excellent instruction. She is a vital member of ourPreK Guiding Coalition and is instrumental in helping create developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for the whole team to use in their classroom instruction. She incorporates research-based practices from the Fueling Brains Curriculum as well as the Science of Reading. She puts 100% of herself into doing whatever it takes for our students! Thank you, Magen Strong!
