February "Whatever It Takes" Award | Andrea Sutterfield

We are honored to present Mrs. Andrea Sutterfield with a Whatever It Takes Award in recognition of her exceptional dedication and multifaceted leadership within our school community. As a leader on the Springhill Guiding Coalition, Mrs. Sutterfield has been instrumental in advancing Springhill's vision to model and implement effective instructional strategies that inspire and empower staff members. She exemplifies what it means to lead by example, setting a high standard for excellence in every classroom.
Beyond her guiding coalition work, Mrs. Sutterfield has taken the lead in aligning unit planners with our High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM), ensuring that each lesson is both rigorous and intentional. Her diligent work in this area has provided clarity and coherence to our district curriculum, enriching the learning experience for every student.
Yet, it is her genuine connection with students that truly sets her apart.
Mrs. Sutterfield doesn’t just teach; she captivates. By creatively transforming into characters like “P Money,” she brings learning to life, hooking students into lessons in unforgettable ways. Always working to move her students to the next level, regardless of ability. She pushes her students to always become better, academically and emotionally. For some students that may be to conquer a fear of speaking in front of peers. For other students, it may be to provide a reasonable argument to a high level math problem when they have solved it in an out of the box manner. She holds students to a very high standard of academics and expectation and it is parallel to the one she holds for herself as a reflective educator and life-long learner. She loves all her students and it shows everyday!
Her unwavering commitment to doing “whatever it takes” shines through in all she does, making her an outstanding candidate for this recognition.
