Though we enjoyed Christmas break and hope our students did too, we were thrilled to welcome them back to GJHS this week! We dove back into learning, but we also incorporated activities to reconnect with students. We are grateful for our community partners who joined our counseling department for breakfast Thursday to learn more about our district's comprehensive counseling plan. On Thursday, students listened to guest speaker, Stephanie Siete, share trends and stories related to the country's drug epidemic. Her presentation also helped increase students' awareness regarding the tricks employed by those who deal drugs to encourage drug use. Consequently, students are more prepared to avoid those situations. Parents and guardians had the opportunity to hear Ms. Siete's presentation Thursday night. Not only did we present awards to our students and teachers of the month for December this week, but we also spent time Friday morning celebrating our students' outstanding achievements, behavior, and leadership skills during the Fall semester!
