Week 28 at GJHS!

Though the weather feels more like winter, the anticipation of Spring Break and our busy week kept us warm at GJHS! Our Education Accelerated by Service and Technology (EAST) students attended the state conference where they learned about other schools’ projects. They also showcased their own projects—including the GJHS newscast, community geocaching activity, and an enhanced Little Rock Zoo experience. Our 9th grade Destination Imagination (DI) team competed in the state tournament and placed first in their challenge at the secondary level. As a result, they were invited to global finals. We are #GreenbrierProud of our EAST and DI students! In lab, Biology students extracted DNA from bananas and tested the enzyme activity of catalase in potatoes. The majority of our students earned incentive time Thursday based on attendance, completed work, and behavior. During incentive time, students enjoyed time in the gym and outside. Special thanks to our community partners who provided refreshments; we are definitely #strongertogether! We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Spring Break! #heartofapanther --
