Mental Health & Behavior Services

  • School Based Mental Health

The Greenbrier School District is partnering with Counseling Associates of Arkansas to provide mental health services to students who have emotional or psychological problems which are adversely affecting the student’s school performance. Referrals for SBMH services may be initiated by school staff or by the student’s parent/guardian through the student’s school counselor. The referrals are reviewed by the district’s Director of Mental Health and Behavior Services. If criteria are met, the referral is routed to the most appropriate provider for school-based services who in turn contacts the student’s parent/guardian to arrange for an intake appointment.  Please refer to the counselor at your child's school for more information.

    Youth Mental Health First Aid

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a program geared at teaching the signs and symptoms of mental health difficulties that our youth face. It is Greenbrier School District's goal to train every staff member who work with students in this program.

  • Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Our district utilizes a program called Character Strong that teaches social emotional development to all students K-12.

  • Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Greenbrier students are supported by a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) integrating positive behavioral interventions at all levels.
